Doja Cat Announces New Album Title, Says Last Two LPs Were ‘Cash Grabs’
Doja Cat is stirring up social media once again. On Tuesday (May 9), the “Kiss Me More” singer confessed that her last two albums were just “cash grabs.” “Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash-grabs and yall fell for it,” she wrote. “Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop.”
Planet Her and Hot Pink were released in 2021 and 2019 respectively. Noticeably Doja did not mention her debut project Amala which was released in 2018.
After that revelation, Doja’s also revealed the title of her upcoming fourth album.
“It’s not called hEllMoUth either its called First of All,” she wrote. “And yes I’m announcing the album title right now.”

This is not the first time Doja has spoken about how her relationship with pop music has changed.
“No more pop,” she tweeted at the time. “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”
She added: “Pop isn’t exciting to me anymore. I don’t wanna make it.” Doja previewed some new music Tuesday following her denouncing of her “mediocre pop” where the musician highlights her rapping ability.
“I know I’ve been the root of the cause/ I know I’ve had a temper before/ But still, y’all don’t quit/ I understand you want me to win/ I understand how hard that you’ve been/ I understand the cause and effect/ Now like dog eat dog and cat eat fish/ I understand the jungle we in,” she spits over a soulful beat.
There is still no definite release date for First of All.
