Tax day can be stressful. And if you owe money, well it’s not a fun day. Are you are looking to spend your refund? Or save money to cover that check you had to write? We’ve got some 2023 tax day deals for you. Many companies offer freebies and promotions around tax day. Here are 8 of the ones that you can use in North Carolina.

  • Boston Market – On April 18th, you can get a half chicken individual meal with two sides and cornbread plus a regular drink and a cookie for just $10.40. There’s no coupon required.
  • Cheesecake Factory – The Cheesecake Factory is offering a deal of $10.40 off a $50 purchase when you use promotion code “TAXDAY1040” at checkout. The deal is valid from Monday, April 17, through Friday, April 21. All orders can be placed directly through The Cheesecake Factory’s website or through DoorDash.
  • Great American Cookies – You can get one free original Chocolate Chip Cookie on Tax Day.
  • Hooters – Hooters is offering multiple promotions on Tax Day this year. You can pick up a 1040EZ Meal (four tenders and fries, eight-piece boneless wings and fries, or six bone-in wings and fries) for $10.40. Or try one of the two drink specials, including the W-$2 Blue Moons ($2 pint of Blue Moon) and W-$4 off Long Island Iced Tea.
  • Kona Ice – Visit your local Kona Ice truck on April 18th and you’ll receive a free Kona Ice.
  • Marble Slab Creamery – Slab Happy Rewards members who make a purchase on April 18 will receive a surprise reward to use on their next visit within 14 days. The rewards will vary but include a free kids’ cup of ice cream and a BOGO free small ice cream!
  • Potbelly Sandwich Shop – April 18th, all customers who purchase an original sized sandwich will get a second original sized sandwich free. Just use promo code BOGO. The offer is only available online and through the app.
  • Southwest Airlines – Rapid Rewards members can earn 1,000 bonus points from Southwest . It’s available to anyone who files taxes with TurboTax using a Southwest Rapid Rewards account by April 18th.

These Familiar Names Are The Most Trustworthy North Carolina Companies

It’s wonderful to have thriving, successful companies in your state. These companies provide jobs and a boost to the local economies of the cities they call home. But it’s also important to have reputable and trustworthy companies. That’s why the folks at Newsweek, in collaboration with market research company Statista, created their second annual list of the Most Trustworthy Companies In America. The 2023 list includes 700 U.S. Companies across 23 different industries. This is based on evaluations by U.S. customers, employees, and investors all of whom are necessary for businesses to gain the trust of. And of those 700 companies, there are 23 North Carolina companies named as the most trustworthy.

14 of these are located in Charlotte or the immediate surrounding area. The Triangle and Triad as well as Asehville are also represented. The 700 companies on this list came from a pool of 3,100. These were all U.S.-based companies that have revenues of over $500 million. Below you will find the 23 North Carolina companies that were named among the nation’s most trustworthy. Does it matter to you if a company is trustworthy? For me personally, it is more important as a potential employee than as a consumer. In the latter scenario, I’m more apt to buy what fills my need at the right price. Though I know many many individuals to whom it makes a big difference.

  • Methodology According to Newsweek

    Newsweek, in collaboration with market research partner Statista, recognizes the Most Trustworthy Companies in America in 23 industries according to U.S. residents’ evaluations.

    The Most Trustworthy Companies have been chosen based on a holistic approach to evaluating trust. The three main public touchpoints of trust have been considered: customer trust, investor trust, and employee trust.

    The analysis followed a 3-step process:

    1) Market definition: All companies headquartered in the US with a revenue over $500 million were considered in the study. Complementary to last year’s methodology, private companies were also eligible.

    2) Extensive survey: The basis of the analysis was an independent survey from a sample of about 25,000 U.S. residents, who rated companies they know in terms of all three touchpoints of trust. A total of 95,000 evaluations of companies were submitted. The field period ran from CW 45 to CW 48 2022.

    3) Social Listening: For each company that received a sufficient number of evaluations, a Social Listening analysis was conducted. This involved researching what was said about a company in various media segments of the internet and evaluating whether it was positive, neutral or negative. In total, over 270,000 mentions were gathered. Additionally, all companies that were involved in any recent scandals or lawsuits relevant to a dimension of trust were excluded from the analysis.
