This North Carolina City Is The Best For Entry Level Jobs
College graduation is quickly approaching which means a new group of young people entering the workforce. Trying to land that job right out of college can be tough. Everyone wants you to have previous experience, they don’t want to pay well, and frankly, a lot of the jobs flat-out suck. I know one particular interview I went on seemed like a semi-reputable “marketing” job when in reality they wanted me to do door-to-door sales for AT&T Uverse. Yeah absolutely not, I’ll be a Starbucks barista before I’m going door to door selling anything but girl scout cookies.
But I don’t want to discourage my job seekers out there. You may have to dig a little deeper than you intended, but there are decent jobs out there. In fact, one North Carolina city was just named as one of the best for entry-level jobs. This statistic was sent to us by our friends at Moneypenny who conducted research analyzing job listings across the U.S.’s biggest cities. Their research determined that Raleigh ranks 3rd in the nation (tied with Bakersfield, CA, and Arlington, TX) for the highest number of entry-level jobs available. This makes perfect sense as you have three major universities in the general area and lots of technology and healthcare companies in the area as well. One company that comes to my mind (as a former Raleigh resident) is SAS which is consistently on best places to work lists.

Another portion of Moneypenny’s research was on the industries doing the most hiring. And with the possibility of a recession coming these are also some of the most secure careers to be in. Leading the way is healthcare, followed by I.T., retail (which I’m sure is struggling to find employees), finance, and construction. This is good news for job seekers, as with the exception of retail these industries are some of the better-paying jobs in the United States.
