Chlöe Gives Release Date For Debut Album ‘In Pieces’
Chlöe Bailey has officially locked down a date for her debut album In Pieces. “IN PIECES 3.31.23,” the “Have Mercy” songstress wrote on Instagram. “My tears are like the water. My heart is like the sun. Through chaos, beauty grows. There’s power in my pain.”
At the beginning of the year, Chlöe teased her debut album with a cinematic video she uploaded to Instagram.
“The album is me picking myself up and talking myself out of any little place or space that the world has tried to put me in, that people and personal relationships have tried to put me in, and even [doing that to] myself,” Bailey previously told Essence of her forthcoming album. “It’s me breaking free.”
Since 2021, Bailey has released several singles, including: “Have Mercy,” “Treat Me,” “Surprise,” “For the Night,” and “Pray It Away.” The ATL native caught some backlash from her recent single that is set to drop Friday (Feb. 24). “How Does It Feel.” The song features Chris Brown and social media wasn’t too kind to the singer once she announced that they would be working together.
3LW and Cheetah Girls’ Kiely Williams spoke out writing, “Let him come out with his own record—so genius, so captivating that it makes us all forget HE BEATS WOMEN,” Williams wrote. “He can’t so he wont. So what does he do? He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay. I am swatting the f—— air [right now]. Garbage [vomiting emojis].”
Chris fired back via Instagram: “I’m getting kinda tired of ya broken promithis, promithis,” Brown wrote on his Instagram Story Friday (Feb. 17). “Obviously you are at a point in your life where either you are very broke or broken… The fact you think you have to speak negatively about me makes [you] look so lame… Your life and career must suck right now. Minding your business would’ve been best but I guess you don’t have a business or a real job that makes u financially stable. I feel more embarrassed for you and your actual maturity.”
Despite Brown’s back and forth on social media with others, Chlöe has not since responded to the backlash.
