Research shows that listening to jazz can help with focus, memory, and mood. Studies conducted on stroke patients show that listening to jazz improves brain waves and brain function. Classical music is well known to stimulate the brain and encourage critical thinking. Luckily in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have venues like The Gantt which is serving up a nice jazz set on January 27th from 6 pm to 8:30 featuring world-class musicians, Luther Allison Trio featuring Endea Owens. This jazz series was created and produced by premier jazz drummer, Ocie Davis.

What is your favorite wind-down music to listen to when you want to reset? Listening to the sounds of nature has been shown to enhance cognitive function and concentration. It makes sense to listen to soothing sounds like flowing water or rainfall to help us fall asleep. More studies reveal that music with 50 to 80 beats per minute can enhance creativity and learning.
