Two Vetted Non-profits To Support On Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement to bring attention to nonprofits solving problems and issues. There are two nonprofits that I have worked with over the years that have boots on the ground doing great work. Sometimes smaller nonprofits work more with fewer funds than larger ones, and here are a few to consider during Giving Tuesday. Brave Step is a nonprofit that helps adult survivors of sexual abuse. This past Sunday they celebrated eight years of fostering courage for those impacted by sexual violence. Brave Step provides personalized services that help adults impacted by sexual violence reclaim the life they deserve. They also foster brave public conversations that cultivate courageous changemakers. Please consider supporting Brave Step as they shape a strong, supportive community. Another deserving nonprofit is Black Girls Film Camp which provides a FREE and virtual 12-week experience. The annual camp is an incubator for films made by high school Black girls. In 2022 over 200 Black girls across the country applied for the 2022 camp, and the application open November 30th. The Spring 2023 camp begins March 11 to June 10, 2023, on select Saturdays from 10 am – 1:30 pm EST. The camp targets high school Black girls between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. Applications close on December 15, 2022. In the Spring of 2022, Black Girls Film Camp provided an all-expense paid LA Retreat at USC in partnership with USC Annenberg. All Teen directors, editors, coaches, and a parent attended this educational experience. Please consider supporting the Black Girls Film Camp this year, here.
