This Discount Airline Is Coming To Charlotte, North Carolina’s Airport
Move over Spirit and JetBlue, there’s a new discount airline in town! Charlotte will soon welcome Sun Country Airlines to it’s fleet of discount airlines at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
According to it’s website, the low-cost carrier will offer one-way flights for $58 or $59. Similar to other discount airlines, Sun Country will have several costs customers can add on like checked bags and seat selection. Travelers with reservations will be able to have one item to be placed under their seat at no charge.
Sun Country will offer twice a week direct flights Monday and Fridays to its hub of Minneapolis-St. Paul. In its news release, the airline said that Charlotte is part of its expansion with 15 non-stop services from from Minneapolis through next summer. Sun Country plans to add Wilmington as part of its nonstop route from Minneapolis. Service from North Carolina’s coast will begin June 1, 2023 and will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
Sun Country Airlines will operate 120 routes at more than 90 airports in the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Canada and the Caribbean. In the Carolinas, Sun Country will also fly to Raleigh-Durham, Charleston and Myrtle Beach airports.
Sun Country offers free in-flight entertainment and non-alcoholic beverage service.
