Ashanti Addresses Irv Gotti In Remix To Diddy’s ‘Gotta Move On’
Ashanti has seemingly responded to Irv Gotti’s comments about her in the past couple of months in a new remix of Diddy and Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On.”
The “Rain On Me” singer is featured on Diddy’s new single alongside Bryson Tiller and City Girls‘ Yung Miami. In Ashanti’s verse, she sings, “It’s giving obsessed, it’s giving you stressed / It’s giving you pressed, it’s giving this n—- missing the best / But it’s been 20 years, please cry less / We can see you and your tears.”
Back in August, Irv made an appearance on REVOLT’s Drink Champs, where the music producer spoke about an alleged fling with Ashanti back when she was signed to Murder Inc. He claimed that the singer’s 2002 hit “Happy” was recorded after they had sex.
“It helped her,” he said, referring to their rumored romance. “We just finished sleeping together, or whatever. I’m taking a shower. I’m in the shower, you know, a n—- be creative after [sex] … I think of the whole track in the shower.”
Irv said he got out of the shower and then immediately called producer Chink Santana.
“‘Okay, now it’s time for you to write. Yo, I want the shit to be a feel-good joint, like summertime,'” he recalled. “The energy, that record came about ’cause of our energy.”

“I’m separated from [my wife] Deb, I’m on my own,” he said. “And Ashanti’s coming to the studio every day and our friendship and bond is naturally growing. She used to wear these juicy sweats and her a– was looking fat. Her a– was looking great.”
“So, one day I was like, ‘Yo, I’ll take you home.’ She said, ‘Bet, cool.’ We are walking to her front door of her crib. She turns and says goodbye and I just kiss her and grab her a– and just, ‘Mwah.’ It was like, ‘What took you so long?'”
The internet called out Irv’s constant retelling of how he supposedly bagged Ashanti two decades ago. One fan Lord take Irv “The Perv” Gotti. He’s ready
Irv eventually decided that he would stop telling stories about their rumored relationship.
TheShadeRoom caught up with the producer at the 2022 VMA’s and later commented on their post.
“Please believe. It’s gonna be NO COMMENT from here on in,” he wrote. “But I felt like at least trying to make y’all understand. Moving forward. it will be limited interviews and no comments. I tell the truth cause I want the people to know the real. But honestly. Y’all don’t give a f— about the truth. Y’all gonna say and do whatever y’all want. So why keep giving y’all the real? It’s better to be like everyone else. Lie to y’all. Alter the truth. Or don’t say s— to y’all and keep you in the dark. Hahahha. I got slandered for telling y’all the absolute truth. Lol.”
