Ciara and Summer Walker will team up for a new song titled “Better Thangs.” The song is scheduled for release on Sept. 30 via Beauty Marks Entertainment, in partnership with Uptown Records and Republic Records. This will mark the second time the two have collaborated with one another.
Over the weekend, Ciara began to tease that “her twin” will join her on a new record as she switched her usual dark hair for some orange. She paired the new hairstyle with a classic white tank and gold jewelry. The R&B star tweeted, “Where’s my twin at??:) #BetterThangs.”
After Ciara’s post, Summer popped up on Instagram wearing a matching white tank paired with blue jean shorts. The Atlanta songstress also ditched her dark hair for a blue-greenish look. She simply captioned the photo, “#betterthangs.”
On Wednesday (Sept. 20), Ciara confirmed that she and Summer will be working on the new song together by posting the official cover art. The “Goodies” singer captioned the photo, “It’s a vibe when me n my girl link up! CC & @SummerWalker [twin emoji],” adding that the song will be arriving at the end of the month on 9/30.
As mentioned previously, this is the second time CC and Summer have paired up. Ciara was featured on Summer’s Still Not Over It album on the outro titled “Ciara’s Prayer.”
In a recent interview with Ebony, Ciara said that she is gearing up for her next album. “There’s so much energy in this album because I want to make the world dance — that’s always been my thing,” Ciara said. “It’s the tempo and beat I’ve been moving to in my music, and the key sentiments I’ve poured into this album. There is an R&B core in these records. To be honest, this album feels nostalgic. It takes me back to my first album in a way that no project I’ve done to this point has before.”
