Now that Apple has rolled out its latest iPhone 14, the three giant wireless companies have started pushing their promotions for customers to get one for free.

AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all announced deals that allow qualifying customers to get the latest Apple smartphone for free. Customers will be able to get the new phone at no cost under certain conditions.

For example, AT&T and T-Mobile say customers can get up to $1,000 in credits after they trade in their phone and buy the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro. Verizon is offering up to an $800 credit after a trade-in for the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro.

If you're considering taking advantage of some of these iPhone 14 promotions,  but try to cancel the service after a month or two, you won't likely work in your favor. You will likely be responsible for money than you paid for the new phone.

iPhone 14 Prices

It's a known fact that most Apple iPhones are going to cost you a pretty penny. The latest generation is no exception. Apple did keep the base price for the iPhone14 the same as it was for the previous generation. It still starts at $799. The 14 Plus model is $899.

Meanwhile, the higher-end models like the iPhone14 Pro starts at $999 and the 14 Pro Max at $1,099. Analysts say because of inflation, carriers are looking to offer some relief to customers by making the latest iPhone more affordable.

A few iPhone14 features include, interactive lock screen, custom fonts, new photo effects, personalized wallpapers and widgets that add information at a glance. Widgets include calendar events, battery life, alarms, Apple Watch Activity rings and the weather, as well as the ability to track “live” activities, such as an Uber ride’s progress, updates on a sports game or food deliveries.

Business analysts say wireless carriers have invested billions of dollar in their own 5G networks. With the latest iPhone 14 mobiles, Apple has ditched the SIM card tray. The iPhone no longer requires the card; instead, Apple has gone entirely eSIM. This new feature allows customers to switch services alot easier. The iPhone has been capable of using 5G networks since the iPhone 12, released in 2020.

iOS 16 Released

Apple released its next-generation mobile software, iOS 16. It has new features, of course. Here are a few:
  • users can personalize their iPhone lock screens
  • change how they text friends through iMessage
  • ability to edit and unsend recently sent iMessages
  • mark the messages as unread if users want to revisit them later; recipients will receive an alert that the original message was edited or deleted. (only works if both parties are running iOS 16)

iOS 16 is available for download now.
