Well-Known Charlotte Diner Closes It’s Doors In South End
It has been a staple in uptown Charlotte for over a decade, the Midnight Diner has served its last chicken and waffle plate in South End. The diner, best known for serving breakfast favorites and comfort food closed Monday, September 5th.
Long-time customers stood in line to get a final taste of their favorite dishes. Popular dishes include chicken and waffles, steak and eggs and any one of their omelettes served with their famous creamy grits and hash browns. Though it seems like the end of a historic eatery, there is good news. Midnight Diner will move to another location nearby.
Their new address is right across from the Spectrum Center. Midnight Diner plans to open their new location this fall.
Taking the place of their current location in South End is a major development. The Queens Bridge Collective (QBC) will include a number of quaint eateries, breweries, entertainment venues, and fine art galleries. It will also be home to a 40-story, 750,000+ SF trophy office tower.
QBC will also feature 650 luxury rental residences across two towers and 40,000+ SF of dynamic retail space.
