AUSTIN, TEXAS - MARCH 13: Kid Cudi, from the fim X, poses at the Variety Studio at SXSW 2022 at JW Marriott Austin on March 13, 2022 in Austin, Texas.

Kid Cudi is gearing up to re-release his debut mixtape A Kid Named Cudi on music platforms this week. A Kid Named Cudi features his hit “Day N Nite,” that has since gone five times platinum since the project’s release 14 years ago. However, fans are not too happy with the rapper since for this re-release he has decided to change the original album artwork.

On Instagram, he shared the new cover, writing in the now-deleted caption per Uproxx: “This photo was taken by Mel D Cole on 9.22.08 in NYC. Right before my life changed forever.”

On Twitter, a fan tweeted at the “Do What I Want” rapper disapproving of the album change, “im sorry cud but the og cover too iconic.” Cudi then quote-tweeted the post and wrote: “Im sorry but that cover i never liked and this is way better to see me at that time. Some of yall be so stuck on the past and dont wanna see any change its really sad. This photo is as equally if not more iconic. Ur bogus.”

Kid Cudi is set to re-release A Kid Named Cudi on 7/15.
