Lil Tjay Awake & Talking After NJ Shooting: Report

Lil Tjay is making progress in his recovery gossip site TMZ reports.

Sources tell the outlet that the rapper is awake, alert, and speaking on his own. They also revealed that the doctors removed his breathing tube and reportedly his voice sounds the same. Since the rapper is able to speak, law enforcement wants to have him recall the events of the night the outlet reports. Lil Tjay (real name Tione Merritt) was shot multiple times in the chest and neck area in Edgewater, N.J. which reportedly required him to undergo emergency surgery last Wednesday (June 22).

An arrest has been made in connection to the shooting NorthJersey.com reported, “Prosecutors announced the arrest of Mohamed Konate, 27, of New York City, on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offenses, accusing the man of firing at the rapper, whose real name is Tione Merritt, as well as Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22, both of the Bronx, who were with him.”
