Burger King Worker Retires After 27 Years; GoFundMe Raises $200K
Kevin Ford worked for Burger King in Las Vegas for 27 years and is making headlines for his dedication to service. People.com reports he never took a day off as a cook and cashier at the Burger King, Las Vegas McCarren International Airport.
And what did he get for all of his years of commitment? Burger King’s parent company gave him a plastic backpack full of knick-knacks, including a single movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, a pack of Life Savers, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, and other miscellaneous items.
Ford’s daughter thought that wasn’t good enough so she started a GoFundMe page for her dad. She wrote about his work ethic and how leaving his job would actually cost him retirement. She asked if anyone would want to bless her dad.
Well, folks on the internet heard her. And heard her loudly. Since the writing of this article, the campaign for her dad has raised over $230,000 for Kevin Ford.
