This Is Now One Of The Fastest-Growing Restaurant Chains In America
Big things are poppin’ for Popeyes. The chicken chain announced it will open more than 200 new locations in the United States and Canada this year.
Popeyes also says it’s going international. The chicken chain plans to add locations in South Korea, France, India, China, and the United Kingdom.
More than half of the new Popeyes locations that are set to open in 2022 will feature double drive-thrus, similar to Chick-fil-A. The double drive-thrus design gets customers through the queue faster. Faster times can mean more loyalty. Popeyes says they will improve technology in its kitchens, too. They want to help employees in the back of the house to work more efficiently.
Look for new Popeyes restaurants in large cities like New York, too. There will be a new flagship location in Times Square as well as others in Manhattan and Staten Island. The Popeyes in Times Square will include special features such as a new design, branded merchandise, self-serve kiosks, and some type of 21st-century dumbwaiter described as a “two-story food transporter” for customers dining on the second floor.
Popeyes parent company is Restaurant Brands International (QSR), which also owns Burger King and Tim Hortons. Popeyes president Sami Siddiqui says “Popeyes is one of the fastest-growing brands within RBI, particularly as it relates to building new restaurants.” It seems like they are just getting started.
