Sha’Carri Richardson Accuses Olympics Of Racial Double Standard
American track star Sha’Carri Richardson is asking why she was suspended from competing in Olympic Games because of a failed drug test but Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva was allowed to compete after she tested positive for a banned drug. Kamila who is 15 tested positive for trimetazidine, a banned medication that is used to treat chest pain and could increase endurance. The court ruled Valieva as a “protected person” as a minor and has different rules than adult athletes. Richardson was favored to win the women’s 100 meters at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo but lost her spot after testing positive for marijuana.
