Snoop Dogg Is The New Owner Of Death Row Records
Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg announced he has acquired Death Row Records brand from MNRK Music Group. Death Row records was founded in 1992 by Suge Knight and Dr.Dre. The label became a success by releasing multi-platinum albums by Dr.Dre, Tupac and Snoop Dogg during the 1990’s. At its peak, the label was making over $100 million a year. In a statement Snoop Dogg said, “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has an immense untapped future value. It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.
