No one won the jackpot on Friday so the amount will rise to an estimated $396 million for Friday night’s drawing. This is according to the lottery website. For whoever wins, the cash option will be a total of $273.6 Million. Winning that amount would be one heck of a way to start off the new year.
Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers – five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) – or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
Luck might be on our side in North Carolina. Even though nobody won the big jackpot, three of the four tickets that matched all five white balls to win million-dollar prizes were in North Carolina.
