Will Smith wins Golden Globe Award for King Richard
After previously being nominated five times, Will Smith wins Best Actor at the 2022 Golden Globes for his portrayal of Serena and Venus Williams father in the 2021 movie “King Richard”. The film follows the journey of Richard Williams as he raises his daughters into tennis icons. The movie explores Richards experience with fatherhood and his efforts to secure his daughters future in the sports world. Smith was first nominated for a Golden Globe back in 1993 and in 1994 for Best Actor in a TV series for his role in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In a recent interview, the 53 year old actor said he feels like “King Richard” is his best work and never thought he would be able to top “The Pursuit of Happiness”.
