Mecklenburg County ABC Stores Change Hours Beginning January 10 Due To COVID
Beginning next week (January 10), you’ll have to wait until a little longer before you get any alcoholic beverages at the ABC Stores. The Mecklenburg County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board announced that its stores will have modified retail store hours.
It’s just another impact of COVID-19 exposures. Stores have less staff, so instead of opening at 10 am, they will now open at 12:30 pm. Stores will close at 9 pm.
Hours for permitted businesses like restaurants, bars and clubs will not be modified and remain unchanged.
The Board says it will monitor changing conditions closely and make any necessary changes to keep customers safe.
Alcohol sales have actually gone up during the pandemic. According to the board, sales have increased by 12%.
