A decision to turn back around and buy a lottery ticket in making one Lincoln County man's Christmas that much merrier. James Miller was leaving Jerry's One Stop in Iron Station when something told him to turn back around. He purchased two Powerball Quick Pick Power lay tickets that "changed his life", according to a North Carolina Education Lottery Press Release. Those tickets turned into $100,000 which Miller won in Saturday’s drawing.

“I’ve got two babies at home and they sure are going to have an amazing Christmas now, Miller said. He plans to use the money to make this Christmas memorable for his two kids and possibly put a down payment on a house. He claimed his prize at North Carolina Education lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Monday. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $70,751.
