Travis Scott To Cover Funeral Costs For Astroworld Victims
Travis Scott is helping the families of those who died at the Astroworld Fest by offering to pay for funeral costs in addition to extending mental health resources for those affected, per TMZ.
Sources close to Scott tell the outlet that he will be able to cover for “any and all” funeral costs for the families of the eight people who died at his concert over the weekend. Sources close to Travis also mention that it is coming from the rapper’s own pocket and there will be a “no questions asked” policy as it pertains to what the victim’s families might need.
The rapper is also going to be partnering with BetterHelp, a professional therapy service, to offer mental health assistance, for free, to anyone who attended the festival.
BetterHelp will be providing one-on-one virtual therapy sessions for survivors as well as teaming up with the National Alliance of Mental Illness for those who might opt to attend not just virtual sessions. There will be a hotline set up that the Houston rapper will be overseeing per TMZ.
As we previously reported, eight people died and 25 were hospitalized in varying degrees. Some have already started to file lawsuits against Scott, Drake who was a surprise guest performer, and Live Nation.
