We are not meant to do life alone. Here at Stolen Lunches this is something we truly believe in, which is why we created Faith Conversations, aweekly virtual conversation where we all can share, learn and grow TOGETHER.
During this extremely long season COVID-19 we have to work exceptionally harder to stay connected with the right people who can pour into us, inspire us, teach us and correct us. We need people who will pick us up when we’re down and be our biggest supporters when we are up. Make it your mission this week to truly analyze your circle of influence. Understand the spiritual importance of connectivity in having a strong community, tribe, sisterhood/brotherhood.
If you feel yourself pulling away from friends and family in isolation be aware this is a trick of the enemy to get you alone. While God has called you to commune with one another, it’s the enemy who will constantly try to separate you so he can sink doubt, fear and worry into your soul. Be intentional and get plugged in to meet-up groups, your church, and/or sports activities etc.
This week’s word: Community
Questions to consider during your morning devotion time this week:
Are you truly connected and invested in a strong community of believers?
Who are the people in your life that make your better?
Who can you pour into?
What new events and meet-ups will you add to the calendar to intentionally meet new people?
What are the different areas of community you are connected to?
Community for prayer
Community for business
Community for fun/enjoying life
Community for service/volunteering
This week’s activity: In your quiet time, assess your circle of friends and ask God to pour into you so you can be more fruitful in their lives. Also, consider those who you have not heard from in a while, take the time to send them a prayer as you reach out to them and bring them from isolation back to community.
Genesis 2:18 (ESV)
He said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. God created us to need each other, to be in community.
God created us to be able to pull destiny out of each other.
Proverbs 13:20 (NRSV)
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.
Proverbs 27:17 (LEB)
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
