Skittles Candy Is Bringing Back A Popular Flavor…Lime
So long Green Apple! Skittles has announced that its infamous Lime Flavor Skittles is returning to the rainbow permanently in its Original packs. The candy was replaced by Green Apple in 2013 but fans have been begging for its return since then. Over 130,000 people mentioned the lime candies on social media in fact. And I have to agree, Skittles was my favorite candy as a child (and honestly I still love them) and I do agree lime is a better flavor than green apple. The candy will be available just in time for Halloween in many markets with the national rollout happening in the following months.
“It’s no secret that Lime has been a hot topic for SKITTLES fans since we replaced them with Green Apple back in 2013. Green Apple has had a good run, but the fans have spoken and it’s time for Lime to return to the rainbow,” said Fernando Rodrigues, Mars Wrigley Senior Brand Manager in a press release. “What better way to bring better moments to our loyal fans, than with the return of the most asked about flavor? The joy of Lime can’t be denied anymore. It is back. This time for good.”
Both Original and Sour Skittles will now contain Orange, Lemon, Grape, Strawberry, and of course, Lime in a variety of sizes.
Lime, it's about time! Lime Skittles are returning permanently to the Original Skittles mix after being replaced by green apple in 2013! These will start hitting shelves in October.
