There was a shooting at a North Carolina high school Monday. The shooting occurred at New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. Officials are currently searching for a suspect who was seen running from the school after the shooting which occurred around noon. One student was wounded and taken to the hospital. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.
Rumors are circulating that the shooting stemmed from a gang-related fight. That is just speculation at this time. It is unclear if the shooter was a student at the school. While officials were searching the school students were taken to a nearby middle school for parents to pick them up at a nearby community center.
