Razor Recalling More Than 235,000 Hovertrax Scooters and Hoverboards
Heads up! Razor is recalling more than 235,000 scooters and Hoverboards as a result of defective battery packs. The GLW battery packs are a part of the “Hovertrax 2.0” self-balancing scooter and hoverboards. These were manufactured between September 2016 and August 2017. The recall impacts approximately 237,300 Hovertrax 2.0 hoverboards with GLW battery packs.

The battery packs have the name GLW written in large letters on the packs themselves. The battery packs have serial numbers beginning with GLW, which is printed on a white sticker on the top of the battery pack, below the bar code. Hovertrax 2.0 is printed on the front of the hoverboard.
These hoverboards came in multiple colors including black, black monochrome, blue, green, red, red monochrome, white, rose gold, camouflage, ocean blue, and purple. There were also available in three multicolor patterns- Spectrum, Galaxy, and Carbon.
Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, and other stores nationwide sold the hoverboards for about $460 from September 2016 through 2018. You could also get them online at Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and other websites.
No injuries have been reported but it has been shown the battery packs and overheat leading to smoking or even fires.
