It seems drug smugglers go above and beyond to transport illegal drugs. And this latest one, I have to admit is pretty creative. Smugglers used a cake to hide their cocaine.

Drug Enforcement officers in Maine received a tip and stopped a man and woman traveling along I-295. They brought a drug-sniffing K9 with them. The dog did his job and alerted the officers there were drugs somewhere in the vehicle. What the officers ended up finding in the trunk was four pounds of cocaine and about $1,900 in cash.

And some of that cocaine was in the form of a cake. A square white decorated cake to be exact. It had been pressed into a block and wrapped in cake packaging, of course. To throw off the scent, agents say the smugglers spread coffee grounds on top of the cocaine.

The DEA says it's likely that's how the cocaine entered the country -- wrapped in cake packaging. The agency doesn't know yet the origin of the drugs.
