Two NC Men Each Win $1 Million In The Lottery
Not one but two NC men won $1 million in the lottery recently. Both men are from the Triad area of North Carolina. Lee Kirby, who resides in Wilkesboro won the top prize in the 50X The Cash game. He purchased the ticket at The Village Market located on Sparta Road in North Wilkesboro. He got a good return on investment, as that $10 ticket, secured him $1 million. Kirby told the lottery officials “When I scratched it off, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was surreal. I was shocked more than anything.” Kirby chose to take a lump sum which after taxes came to $424,503.
But Kirby wasn’t the only North Carolina winner. A Thomasville, NC man, Mario Paniagua Garcia also brought home $1 million. Garcia played the Jumbo Bucks game and also purchased his ticket for just $10. His winning ticket was purchased at the Cross Road Curb Market on Blair Street in Thomasville. He also chose to take the lump sum for the same amount.
