If you have a trip booked on American Airlines, you may want to double-check your flight status. Hundreds of flights on American Airlines were canceled this weekend and for Monday. Officials blamed a mix of bad weather, staffing shortages, and a rapid increase in customer demand. According to Flight Aware, nearly 200 American Airlines flights were canceled Sunday and 430 were delayed. A statement from American also warned more cancellations are likely on the way as they shuffle things around through mid-July. With Charlotte being an American hub chances are these cancelations and delays will have an impact on you or someone you know.
