“Pay What You Wish” Event at the Carolina Raptor Center on Juneteenth
Tucked away in the woods of Huntersville is the Carolina Raptor Center. It is a marvelous place within Latta Nature Center and Preserve that works on rehabilitating injured birds of prey and educating the public about their importance.
I’ve gone to this venue before and saw flight shows and up-close raptor interactions. The Raptor trail was filled with adorable baby owls, adult owls, eagles, vultures, hawks, and falcons. Now on Juneteenth, the Carolina Raptor Center will do a “pay as your wish” event with no prescribed admission fee.
All you need to do is arrive for a visit and contribute what you can in the donation box. This is an open invitation for the community to observe the holiday while celebrating freedom and enjoying nature together. Carolina Raptor Center is open seven days a week and time slots include 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can see more here.
