Jennifer Lopez and her production banner, Nuyorican Productions, have signed a multiyear first-look deal with Netflix.
Lopez along with producing partners Benny Medina and president of Nuyorican Productions Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, will produce film and television content, both scripted and unscripted showcasing diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.
“Throughout every aspect of her career, Jennifer Lopez has been a force in entertainment. In partnering with her and Nuyorican we know she will continue to bring impactful stories, joy and inspiration to audiences around the world,” Scott Stuber, head of global films at Netflix, said in a statement.
It was previously announced that Lopez would be starring in two upcoming films for Netflix, The Mother directed by “Mulan” director Niki Caro, and The Cipher, which is based on the Isabel Ojeda Maldonado novel.
The gig comes after a number of well-received projects that J.Lo has both starred in and produced, including NBC series ‘Shades of Blue’ and the movie ‘Hustlers’ – which earned her a Golden Globes nomination.
