No Playoffs For Hornets But Knicks Make it In With 15,000 Fans
Our Charlotte Hornets didn’t make it into the playoffs but the NY knicks did!, and they are excited.
Now more fans can watch the game live. Knicks owner James Dolan is making up for lost time — and revenue.
After announcing the Knicks would go from 1,980 fans to 13,000 for the first round of the playoffs, the Knicks are raising the number again after high demand to a capacity of 15,000 — highest in the NBA.
It will be among the largest indoor crowds for a sporting event in North America since the pandemic. Games 1 and 2 against the Hawks are slated for Sunday and Wednesday, and they already have sold out after going on sale Wednesday.
By contrast, the Hawks will hold a capacity of 7,600 for Games 3 and 4. The Knicks announced 90 percent of their fans will be vaccinated for the team’s first playoff game since 2013.
