Mask Mandates Are Ending, Now Stores Can’t Keep This Beauty Item On The Shelves
Since most of the country is loosening restrictions on mask orders, this beauty item can’t seem to stay on the shelves. Lipstick is a hot commodity right now with sales jumping more than 80% compared to this time last year.
If you think about it, it should be no surprise. No one was really wearing lipstick since most of our lips were hidden under masks because of the pandemic. But, now the makeup industry is seeing a hug increase in lipstick sales. The market research firm IRI reported lipstick sales hit $34.2 million in four weeks last month.
And at the nation’s biggest retailer Walmart, lipstick is performing better than any other cosmetic in its stores. Now just what kind of lipsticks are selling the most? Walmart says said shoppers are buying the longwear and smudge-proof lipsticks that don’t rub off as easily inside of a mask.
And customers are also scooping up the bright, bold colors too. You may have a hard time finding purples, blues or browns — as fashion-conscious shoppers continue to search a unique look.
Personally, I’m a bold red lipstick-color girl with a pop of bronze to highlight! (I usually wear “Burning Love” by VOLT) No matter what you wear on your lips, make your “color” count!
