Senior Prank Caused $5,000 Worth of Damage at NC High School
A senior prank caused $5,000 worth of damage at a Lincoln Country High School. It’s a right of passage for any graduating class- the senior prank. The East Lincoln High School Class of 2021’s prank will go down in history, but not for a good reason. Students covered areas of the school and busses with a type of glue and then glitter on Tuesday. Meat and eggs were also placed in the school’s HVAC system.
Law enforcement was called to the school after the incident was reported as “vandalism”. School officials reviewed security footage and were able to identify 12 students involved. They have all been charged in connection to the events. The students and their parents were called to the school and admitted their involvement. Warrants were issued yesterday, May 19th. All students involved were 18 years old and charged with misdemeanors. The charges include trespassing, breaking and entering, injury to personal property, and injury to real property according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office.
This makes me think of the Full House episode where DJ puts the principal’s car on the roof. Senior pranks can be a fun tradition, but kids do yourself a favor and don’t break any laws. It’s not worth it. Hopefully, this lapse in judgment won’t hurt these students in the long run.
