CATS is Temporarily Offers Fare-Free Transit Due to the Colonial Pipeline Shutdown
Well, the Colonial Pipeline caused a lot of chaos in North Carolina. Even yesterday as I was driving around, I saw a line wrapped about a mile down the street just to get gas.
Times are wild right now, so CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System) announced that they are waiving fares on all buses and trains, in response to the temporary shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline. This Fare-free transportation is currently being offered to help residents with access to essential workplaces.
The City of Charlotte will make an announcement before resuming fares. You can see more information here on this local offer.
