Here’s How To Participate In Charlotte’s Comprehensive 2040 Plan
More than 100 people in Charlotte-Mecklenburg have spoken out this week (March 22) about the city’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan and now the city’s mayor wants to allow more time to consider including the community’s feedback into the plan.
After getting a glimpse of the plan, community members were split on their opinions of it. Mayor Vi Lyles originally planned to include community feedback into the plan for the council to approve in April. Now she wants to push that date to June 30th.
It was residents, industry and neighborhood leaders who spoke during the meeting and were mostly split.
But, the good news is Mayor Lyles says council committees will review some of the main issues identified and council members will host weekly virtual meetings to hear from people in the community.
