If you're one of the people who watch movies on Netflix without having a paid Netflix account, you probably won't like this news. Netflix says it will start cracking down on those who share passwords.

Netflix has started testing a new feature that asks users to verify they are authorized to watch on the account. To verify, you'll have to confirm with a text or email that will be sent to the account holder. If you cannot confirm the account within a certain timeframe, you will be prompted to set up a new account. In other words, you will not be allowed to move forward to access the movie or other content on Netflix.

There are more than 200 million subscribers to Netflix. It's estimated that password sharing and piracy cost streaming companies somewhere around $9 billion.

Netflix executives say another concern is security. They say the new measure ensured better security measures around accounts. If someone maliciously tries to gain access to a Netflix account they won't be able to access it.

No need to panic quite yet. Netflix says it's only testing out the feature and it isn't targeting any one country or for any specific length of time. Whew!
