Safe Valentines Day Ideas
With Valentine’s Day coming up and COVID still looming in the air, we must continue to do our part and stay home as much as possible to keep us and others safe. Whether you’ve been with your significant other for years, got together during the pandemic, or even if you’re spending the holiday alone- here are some ideas on how to keep Valentine’s Day just as special while staying safe. Plan a romantic night at home- Consider making a delicious dinner with your special someone. Try something new that you’ve never cooked before or prepare a favorite meal you both share. If cooking isn’t your thing, order in some tasty takeout. If you can’t physically be with one another, no worries. You can easily do everything mentioned above virtually over Facetime, Zoom, etc. After you’ve devoured your food, play a fun game or put on a movie and cozy up on the couch together. How the rest of the night unfolds is up to you (wink, wink).
Do a Valentine’s Day Craft- There’s lots of crafts you can do in the comfort of your own home. Have fun making a Valentine’s Day card for one another. Get two blank canvas’s, some paint and choose an image for each of you to paint and see who does the best job… or better yet, the worst job. Get creative and have a great time! Again, this can all be done virtually as well. Write a love letter- Grab a pen and paper, set the mood and write a love letter to your partner. Tell them all the reasons you love them and don’t miss a thing. Single? Write a love letter to yourself. You deserve it! Venture outdoors- Plan a picnic in the park or even your own backyard for your loved one. Take a scenic hike and bask in the romantic view at the top of the mountain. Whatever the outdoor activity is, make it special by spending it outdoors.
Have a self-care day/night- This is the day to celebrate love, so why not treat your partner to a day or night of relaxation and self-care? Draw a bath surrounded by candles, give or receive a massage, or relax and listen to some soft music and enjoy each other’s company. If you’re single, all these ideas can be done for yourself. Whether you’re ringing in the holiday with your lover or celebrating alone, just remember that Valentine’s Day is just another day to show the one you love how much you love them, and most importantly yourself. The less pressure you pile on it, the less stressful it will be.
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
