NCWorks NextGen Opportunity
Who is NCWorks NextGen? NCWorks NextGen is a FREE program in Mecklenburg County designed to help remove many of the barriers youth may experience. It is an opportunity for young adults to get ahead of the game and explore new ways to find their career pathway. Whether that path is obtaining a GED/High School Equivalency Diploma, gaining work experience in high demand fields, completing a skills training certification, or learning job readiness skills, NextGen is designed to help! Career Advisors are helping young adults every step of the way while they are in the program. You should receive the tools, training, and support needed to remain motivated about changing your life, and creating a better future, while starting in a career you’re drawn to when you’re finished.
To qualify for their program, you must meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Be between 16 and 24 years old
• Pregnant or parenting
• Out of school
• Prior or current criminal court involvement
• Experiencing homelessness
