NC Governor Supports Mass COVID-19 Sites To Get 1 Million Vaccinations By July 4
We all know COVID-19 cases are on the rise. Health officials want more people vaccinated. And a public-private partnership initiative could meet that goal. Officials want to get 1 million North Carolina residents vaccinated by July 4. The partnership includes the state of North Carolina, Honeywell, Atrium Health, Tepper Sports & Entertainment, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper supports the initiative and says several mass COVID-19 vaccination sites will be set up across the state in the coming weeks.
Atrium Health will serve as the health system to offer these ‘mega” vaccination events in Charlotte and surrounding areas. According to the news release, Bank of America Stadium and Charlotte Motor Speedway will serve as initial venues. A location has not been determined yet for the Winston-Salem area.
The partners plan to work together to administer the vaccine and offer a venue for the initiative. Health officials say the priority is to get as many people vaccinated as possible.
