Have you ever had someone harshly tell you the truth? Instead of opening up you probably felt condemned and shut down. God desires us to tell the truth with love. In order to make a difference in the lives of others we must tell the truth from a place of compassion. Telling the truth in love doesn’t mean ‘sugarcoating’. It means to share the information in mercy and with care. When we do, we partake in sharing the love of God. This is part of our role as Christians as we represent the love of Jesus.
Ephesians 4:29: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” |
