Mecklenburg County Holiday Closings
Most people have already checked out mentally for the holiday. And several Mecklenburg County services will be closed to observe the Christmas holiday. County offices and services will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, Friday, Dec. 25, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 for the Christmas holiday. And offices and services will also be closed Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 for New Year’s Day.

- Main Library and library branches
All Recreation Centers, Senior Centers, Nature Centers and indoor Rental Facilities remain closed due to COVID-19.
CharMeck 311 will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 for the Christmas holiday and Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 for New Year’s Day.
The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).

Aquatic Center hours are as follows:
- Wednesday, Dec. 23: 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (main tank closed 1 – 4 p.m.)
- Thursday, Dec. 24 – Monday, Dec. 28: Closed
- Tuesday, Dec. 29: 11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Dec. 30: 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (main tank closed 1 – 4 p.m.)
- Thursday, Dec. 31: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 1 – Sunday, Jan. 3: Closed
Outside regular business hours, CharMeck 311 callers can report water, sewer, storm water and animal issues via an automated service that dispatches assistance. Residents can also submit service requests online 24 hours a day or access dozens of city services by downloading the CLT+ mobile app. Please call 911 for any emergencies.
