Can’t find the time or the money for such an extravagant travel idea? Plan a trip instead to Speedway Christmas, presented by Count on Me, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. This year’s theme is “North Pole” and after an evening spent with family and friends you will feel as if you have been transported to Santa’s home. Featuring more than 4 million lights, this is a display you really don’t want to miss. Drive on the 3.75 mile course in your own vehicle turned sleigh for the night. The show is open nightly from 6 – 10 pm, rain or shine. Be sure to tune your radio to 101.3 FM because the lights are synchronized to the music. Beware though, this can cause passengers to begin singing, sometimes off key, along to the music.
Wouldn’t it be fun to sit in your car and enjoy a movie on the big screen? Did someone say, “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation” or “The Grinch?” Each night at 6:30pm a different Christmas movie will be played on the giant Speedway TV. The movie schedule differs daily, so be sure to check out what movie will be playing the evening you plan on going. Again, just tune your radio dial to 105.1 FM to join in the fun. Ready to venture outside your vehicle/sleigh? Speedway Christmas now features a 5,400 sq. ft., real ice, outdoor skating rink that is the perfect chance to laugh and play like a kid at heart. Just be careful, if you fall you can be sure your family will post that picture or video on social media for everyone to see.
If you are looking for a way to celebrate the season while maintaining a safe, social distance, this is definitely a must do. For more information, visit this link to the North Pole
