Ring That Bell Ron Rivera!
Our favorite and former Carolina Panthers Coach Ron Rivera led his current team, the Washington Football Club to a dominating win over their hated rival Dallas on Sunday afternoon. However, the greater victory took place on the next day. On Monday Coach Rivera rang the Bell of Hope at a Northern Virginia Treatment Center for Cancer. The ringing of the Bell signals the completion of weeks of chemotherapy. The grind of Chemotherapy, takes an intense toll physically, and mentally. Miraculously, despite taking Chemotherapy, Rivera still managed to coach every game this season.
Our family and friends are huge fans and there was no team we disliked more than the Dallas Cowboys. However, but in all honesty, the only thing that I hate even more than Dallas is Cancer. I’ve watched for years helplessly as that loathsome disease cut the lives short of very dear friends and family members. Regardless of how this season ends or how Rivera’s tenure continues in Washington, he’s a WINNER for life. He’s the only coach in NFL HISTORY that can boast that he beat Dallas on Sunday and Cancer the very next day. In the words of 1970’s disco diva Anita Ward, said, “Ring That Bell” coach Rivera. Hope springs eternal, and Cancer can be defeated!
