Food Drive Tomorrow
How do you get people’s attention? You have a food drive to feed people, attached to a nonpartisan voting initiative, titled When We All Vote. This group is hosting that food drive to feed 2,000 people in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Here’s some details to share with friends and family:
WHAT: Fuel the Vote Food and Voter Registration Drive
WHEN: Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Sifford Golf Course at Revolution Park – 1225 Remount Rd, Charlotte, NC 28208
The reason they’re having this event is because 32 percent of 18-to 24- year-olds reported turning out to vote in North Carolina in 2018. Fuel the Vote meets a critical need of providing food to more than 2,000 families in Charlotte during this pandemic, while also helping people register to vote and make their plan to vote early.
Mayor Vi Alexander Lyles will attend this event and it’s in partnership with: Lyft, who is providing discounted rides to the community to get to designated locations, as well as You Can Vote, Dress for Success Charlotte, Anthony Morrow Charities and Campus Election Engagement Project, Project Isaiah, a coronavirus relief organization that has provided more than 2.5 million meals to those in need during the pandemic, Wondaland Arts Society, Live Nation Urban, The United State of Women, SoundExchange and Audiomack.
