Going to a farmers market gives one an opportunity to connect with their local community.
There’s nothing quite like biting into fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables at the peak of its growing season. In Mecklenburg county, we currently have 13 farmers markets with University City Farmers Market being the latest addition.
The market will be open every Saturday during October from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Serving up local produce and food preparation programs for all starting October 3rd. Located along the lake at The Shoppes at University Place, shoppers can expect natural beauty-care products, live music, DJs and cooking demonstrations by Chef Lisa Brooks and cooking blogger, Erique Berry.
Do you shop locally? You should! Head out to this one and see what they are all about. Happy shopping!
