Man, the times I wish I had some serious art skills. But hey…I can write so I’m blessed in that department. When I first saw this, I said now wait a minute. But after reading, I think this is such an awesome idea and for the person who gets it, you won the golden ticket!
If you’re an artist, this is a great opportunity. There is a new apartment complex in SouthEnd called “Hub.” It’s an art inspired spot and they are looking for a resident artist. The great thing about this, is you get to live rent-free for 6 mos in exchange for your services if you’re selected. This is something you can’t miss out on if you’re an artist that is not only great but serious about your craft.
In the Charlotte area, two of my friends live in The Collective in NoDa and Three30Five also in the South End. One is actually a part of the artist-in-residence program already in play. The program will be ongoing at all three properties, meaning new artists will have the chance to participate in the future which I think is awesome! I actually was able to model for them once so if you see my photo on the walls…shout your girl out!
Applications are due September 10 and a decision will be made by September 24. The artist can move in before December 1. Apply here.
