Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’ ‘Verzuz’ Series Coming To Apple Music
Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are bringing their “Verzuz” series to Apple Music and Beats 1. The series, which pits legendary artists/producers against each other, was launched in March on Instagram Live and has become a can’t-miss event for classic hip-hop and R&B fans during the pandemic.
The next episode — featuring Snoop Dogg and DMX — will be the first to be broadcast on Apple, but will still be simulcast on Instagram Live. The show will be accessible on-demand afterward on Apple music.
According to Variety, artists see streaming numbers grow by up to 300% after appearing on the show.
Brian has been working in pop culture and media for about three decades: he’s worked at MTV, VH1, SiriusXM, CBS and Loudwire. Besides working as a writer and an editor-in-chief, he’s also appeared on air as a pundit, guested on radio shows and hosted podcasts. Over the years, he’s interviewed the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the members of U2, Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Lorde… and is grateful to have had the chance to interview Joe Strummer of the Clash and Tom Petty.
