With recent soaring temperatures in the 90’s, there is some relief for senior citizens and those receiving disability in Mecklenburg County. Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is helping senior adults (those age 60 and older) and those receiving disability income (ages 18-59) to stay cool this summer by offering free box fans.

To get a free fan, those individuals can call the location nearest to you or pre-register at for a date and time to pick up a fan. No walk-ups are allowed.

To receive fan, individuals must show a valid driver’s license or state ID providing proof of age and a current Mecklenburg County address. There is limit one fan per person, while supplies last.
