Gaston County Tattoo Artists Help Kids Have Art Supplies At Home
I love reading awesome stories from my hometown! Although this shop isn’t in Gastonia, it’s still in Gaston County so that counts as “home.” Early this morning I saw this story on WBTV and just had to share!
Kyle and Shawna Moore are the owners of S’Moore Ink in Dallas and are giving away art supplies to students for free. Both are artists and they didn’t want kids to go without art supplies while at home. Being creative is a great way for kids to release anxiety which is why art is so needed!
The Moore’s cannot work at the moment since their tattoo shop is closed for a bit due to the Coronavirus. Art supplies are not cheap, as many parents are finding out while their kids are being homeschooled, and the couple wanted to help. They’ve spent their money but they are also now taking donations.
If you’d like to make a donation or share what these folks are doing click here for all of the details. Businesses that are contributing and helping others are the ones that will get my money in the future, once all the stay-at-home guidelines are lifted. Check out the shop’s website here.
I have lots of tattoos and have had them for years. Although tattoos are definitely more accepted now, it hasn’t always been that way. I’ve been stared at and I’ve even had people make rude comments. We’re just like everyone else! We want to help others within our community. This is one of the reasons I wanted to share this story. Awesome idea! Thanks so much to Kyle and Shawna for coming up with this. Rock on!
